Prerequisites
Before you pair a number, make sure you have:- Admin access to your Meta Business Manager, so Alcmeon can associate the WhatsApp Business account with your Simio company.
- A dedicated phone number for WhatsApp Business. It must not already be in use on personal WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business (mobile app); if it is, you have to delete that account first before Meta will let it be used with the API.
- An active Simio subscription. Access to Conversations, Campaigns, Automations, Chatbots, Contacts, and Analytics is gated on subscription status. See Billing and subscription.
How to: Connect your WhatsApp account to Simio
The account connection will be done during a call with our Client Success team. What will happen during this call? The Client Success team will connect the WhatsApp account to Alcmeon, Simio’s parent company. This enables Simio to leverage the robust, high-quality infrastructure of its Alcmeon. What happens after a number is connected
Every inbound WhatsApp event (new messages, delivery and read status updates, button clicks) arrives at Simio as a webhook forwarded by Alcmeon, is queued, and is then processed in the background. That background processing is what ultimately creates or updates the messages seen in the conversations inbox.Multiple WhatsApp accounts on one company
A company can connect more than one WhatsApp number. Simio figures out which account a conversation “belongs to” based on the most recent message sent through it, not a fixed assignment. This matters practically because:- Templates are picked per account: replying inside the inbox offers only templates approved for that specific account.
- Consent (opt-in and opt-out) is tracked per messaging account, not per contact overall. A contact who opted in on number A has not automatically opted in on number B. See Consent and opt-in status.
Account health
For each connected number, Simio tracks:- WhatsApp quality rating.
- Messaging limits.
- Whether the account is restricted or flagged by Meta.
Two automatic email alerts (throttled to at most once every 24 hours per phone number) fire when a WhatsApp number gets flagged by Meta for a messaging-quality/spam violation, or when a number hits a billing-related delivery failure on Meta’s side.
